Saab, Inc. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cybersecurity student interested in applying their academic studies to real-world practice through a Co-op/Intern opportunity at our Collamer location in East Syracuse, NY. This assignment will run during the Spring 2026 semester (January - April). As part of the Information Security group, you will work alongside our Information Security Analysts to perform real-time monitoring and analysis of Saab's information systems.

Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities include:

  • Perform security assessments of applications and systems using penetration and vulnerability testing techniques.

  • Assist with risk analysis activities.

  • Configure and investigate security alerts.

  • Conduct vulnerability scans and collaborate with IT to implement software fixes that address system vulnerabilities.

  • Respond to cybersecurity-related incidents and assist with incident investigations.

  • Support incident response using forensic investigation techniques.

  • Develop, apply, and assess secure technical baselines for various applications and products (e.g., Windows OS, Linux OS, firewalls, switches, etc.).

Compensation Range: $18 - $20/hour

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program with a major in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Completion of Sophomore year or above.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of networks, subnet masks, gateways, routers, and VLANs.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stress scenarios.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven teamwork experience in an international environment.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
