Acara Solutions is seeking a Control System Certification Engineer to join our client, Rolls Royce on a 12-month contract opportunity located in Indianapolis Indiana 46225
Location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 12 months
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Pay: $59/hour
Position Summary
The Control System Certification Engineer supports software system certification activities for control and monitoring systems. This role interfaces with development teams and airworthiness authorities to prepare certification documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop certification work products, including requirements, design documentation, verification records, and traceability evidence.
  • Ensure validation of requirements, design constraints, safety, security, and quality attributes are properly captured.
  • Collaborate with development teams to align certification plans, standards, and configuration management processes.
  • Generate reports to compile life-cycle data for submission to airworthiness authorities.
  • Review and improve certification documentation based on program and regulatory feedback.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to maintain consistency across life-cycle data and certification materials.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with control systems, including software-based systems (HVAC, engine, brake, or gas turbine).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in system requirements development (Cameo or similar tools).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in configuration management and system tracking.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in airborne system development and certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience preparing and submitting certification data to airworthiness authorities.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Ability to identify and communicate technical or compliance risks.
  • Working knowledge of related engineering disciplines.
  • Proficiency in requirements management, design, and analysis tools.
  • Experience reviewing certification evidence for completeness and correctness.
  • Strong task ownership and communication skills across teams.
  • Ability to source solutions and information from internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Information:
