Employees must reside in, and work from, one of the above approved states. The opportunity The Enterprise Architect will report to The Vice President of Technology and Innovation. The Enterprise Architect is a business and technology expert who takes a big picture view of SNHU's business capabilities, future needs, and external technology trends to build a holistic technology roadmap helping SNHU meet its long-term goals. The Enterprise Architect works with both business and IT partners, aligns IT projects with long-term goals, and advises on technologies and trends which could improve SNHU. In close collaboration with domain architects, you will ensure that IT roadmaps for all domains (business, data, application and technology) are well designed and aligned with strategy. The Enterprise Architect educates technology teams about frameworks and best practices, helps to determine operational gaps, and recommends improvements. You will be a necessary player in architecture governance for our organization, ensuring that applications, infrastructure, and processes comply with enterprise standards. The Enterprise Architect helps to promote competitive advantage through information technology by increasing flexibility, reducing costs, and regulating mission-critical technology environments at SNHU. You can work remotely from any of our approved states. #LI-Remote What You'll Do:
- Gather and maintain holistic view of our strategy, processes, information and technology assets; participate in strategic planning and develop/communicate plans to grow the strategy.
- Participate in digital strategy decisions and provide digital business model consulting within IT teams.
- Work with business and technology partners to understand requirements for technological solutions. Analyze enterprise business context and change requirements to obtain future state enterprise technology architecture and create detailed architectural blueprints/roadmaps to achieve our goals.
- Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to harmonize systems or infrastructure with the enterprise technology architecture; identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise technical architecture to accommodate immediate or future project needs.
- Present to team members on how architectural options will meet their needs, including technology, business, and operational possible effects.
- Create current- and target-state enterprise architectures, configurations and documentation.
- Understand impact of technological trends and disruptions and apply appropriate technologies to promote targeted business and operating models.
- Define/design the enterprise architecture direction for the targeted domain(s).
- Appraise existing enterprise architecture regarding completeness of scope, level of detail, quality of work.
- Help to define and measure project-specific architectural and technology quality metrics.
- Coordinate, approve projects to ensure that they are compliant with architectural standards, guidelines. Validate implementations against defined enterprise architecture and quality metrics.
- Identify weak links in our IT strategy and implementation and recommend ways to close the gaps.
- Identify alternative technologies, automation, approaches, and organizational standards to resolve complex technical problems and enhance business processes.
- Implement enterprise architecture concepts and strategies that facilitate prioritized programs.
- Ensure technology solutions are according to enterprise architecture principles and target state.
- Help to design and direct governance activities to ensure enterprise architecture quality assurance and compliance.
- Create high quality deliverables for target audience and purpose including architecture roadmaps, as-is and to-be models, reference implementations, configurations, presentations, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Leverage established standards, methods and tools to ensure selection of technology, efficient use of resources and smooth integration of multiple systems and technologies.
- Apply and contribute to the standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure governance of enterprise architecture across the organization.
- Implement systems and controls to measure performance and manage risk.
- Use advanced modeling techniques necessary to accomplish a complex architectural effort that delivers a strategic initiative.
- Promote adoption of Unified Modeling Language diagramming standards for technical design and specifications, which could include Information Engineering notation for database design, Business Process Management Notation for business and technical process maps.
- Support project management methods (Predictive, Agile) by assisting with planning, providing estimates and work breakdown structures for your work, reporting progress to ensure predictable and successful achievement of desired outcomes.
- Work with business leaders to consider strategic changes, facilitate entry into new markets and respond to changing market dynamics; provide consultancy to evaluate options.
- Partner with senior technology staff and business leaders to act as an advisor to technology strategy planning efforts.
- Circulate roadmaps to align IT priorities; collaborate with the architecture team and IT teams to achieve common goals.
- Promote architecture and strategies to business executives and project leaders to gain team member commitment.
- Provide consulting support to architects with diverse teams (application, infrastructure, integration, and data) to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and designs are optimized.
- Oversee specialist advice provided by others and consolidate expertise from multiple sources to provide reasonable advice which furthers organizational goals.
- Provide guidance to the ePMO, project teams, developers, and other technical team members to ensure they take account of relevant architecture, strategies and practices, and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.
- Partner with business and technical teams and diplomatically resolve conflicts to ensure designs which balance competing goals.
- Provide high-quality documentation and assistance to team members tailored for specific audience and purpose.
- Partner with project managers, team members, other architects, analysts, and peers to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities and resolve areas of confusion or overlap to ensure high-performing teams.
- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential functions of this role.

What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of successful technical leadership and delivery of mission-critical technology plans and roadmaps including complex technological solutions and architectures improving multiple departments.
- Experience with enterprise architecture, application development, or systems management including designing, integrating, and managing complex IT solutions expected.
- Experience leading Software/System Development Lifecycle and Integration.
- Experience leading system/process/data modeling tools and techniques.
- Experience with multiple project management and development methodologies (Predictive, Agile).
- Experience with network and security architecture.
- Experience with multiple aspects of enterprise technology architecture including architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks and patterns. (e.g. SOA, TOGAF)
- Experience with software, hardware, data and corporate technology trends (e.g. Cloud, IaaS, PaaS, DevOps, ETL, AI)
- Demonstrated scope of technology skills across application, security and infrastructure domains.
- Experience with UML diagramming.
- Experience with responsibilities and capabilities of new technologies and to maintain awareness of relevant latest technologies.

Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $152,311.00 - $206,068.00.
