About CTD

The Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University exists to serve the gifted community. As a non-profit center within the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University, CTD ensures gifted students receive the education, encouragement and support they need to grow into confident and accomplished lifelong learners.

Job Summary

The Program Assistant will provide a variety of administrative, clerical, and client assistance support for Online educational programs for students ranging from Preschool through grade 12. Responsibilities may include managing email and phone communications, managing data in databases, collecting, and organizing secure records, preparing agendas, updating information on web pages, and assisting families, teachers, and supervisors with technical aspects of CTD's learning management system.

Please note: The position periodically (typically 4-6 times per year) requires evening and/or weekend work

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Documents & Databases: Proofs for spelling & grammar. Enters information into spreadsheets and/or databases. Compiles routine reports, statistics, tables, charts, etc. from readily available information.
  • Website: Coordinates content maintenance of websites &/or blogs.
  • Human Resources: Provides information on HR policies & procedures. Tracks hiring and on-boarding documentation for temporary staff. Reviews, routes, and manages applications of temporary applicants through MyHR.
  • Learning Management System: Provides basic online and telephone-based support to families and teachers related to use of CTD's online platforms; triages and escalates as needed more complex issues to IT support personnel.
  • Contacts: Provides information via phone, e-mail, mail, etc. Represents supervisor in routine/standard situations with various levels of personnel both internally and externally. Assists teachers in obtaining instructional texts and specialized software.
  • Supervision: Coordinates work of temporary and/or part-time Northwestern University student workers, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional, efficient, and polite manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated collegiality, customer focus, and initiative.

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and willingness and ability to learn to use core CTD database and instructional software applications.

Target hiring range for this position will be $42,000 - $45,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
