Georgia-Pacific is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our Kansas City, MO corrugated box plant, a key operation within the GP Corrugated network. This role offers full P&L ownership with a primary focus on commercial leadership, driving sales growth, customer experience, and market competitiveness, while overseeing world-class manufacturing and customer service operations.

You'll lead, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial team through every stage of the sales process, from prospecting and pricing strategy to relationship management and service excellence, while ensuring our operations deliver on what's promised to the customer.

What You Will Do

Commercial & Sales Leadership

  • Own and drive the commercial strategy for the operation, with accountability for sales growth, margin expansion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coach and develop the sales and customer service teams to elevate performance across the full sales process, prospecting, solution selling, pricing, negotiation, and retention.
  • Strengthen customer partnerships by anticipating needs, identifying opportunities, and ensuring the plant delivers reliable, value-added solutions.
  • Leverage market intelligence and competitive insights to guide pricing, product mix, and capacity planning decisions.

Operational & P&L Leadership

  • Lead a strong operations team committed to safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Align commercial demand with operational execution to ensure customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Manage full P&L accountability, driving profitability through pricing discipline, cost management, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with capability teams to implement capital investments, enhance plant capabilities, and support long-term business growth.

People & Culture Leadership

  • Build and sustain a culture grounded in Principle Based Management, emphasizing ownership, humility, and contribution.
  • Develop future leaders by mentoring and empowering teams to make sound, principle-based decisions.
  • Foster collaboration across commercial, customer service, and operations functions to deliver seamless customer experiences and organizational excellence.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in corrugated or paper manufacturing, with a strong background in commercial sales, customer management, or general management.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing commercial teams through all phases of the sales process.
  • Demonstrated success in growing sales, improving margins, and strengthening customer partnerships.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen with experience managing P&L performance and using data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Proven success leading both commercial and operational teams in a corrugated box or sheet feeder environment.
  • Experience establishing sales process discipline, customer segmentation, and value-based selling strategies.
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Bachelor's degree in any field; MBA or advanced degree a plus or equivalent industry related experience in lieu of a degree.
