In a global transformation context, the Global Trade Services Regional Manager plays a strategic role in managing the local region-specific trade compliance aspects in their assigned region. They are also responsible for maintaining strong business relationships and ensuring global trade compliance with the different operation teams in their region.

The main responsibilities of this position are to implement and support the trade compliance guidelines and support the global operation footprint of the region from a trade perspective. This includes implementing the global trade compliance processes, procedures, programs, control points, key performance indicators, internal reviews, and other specific local variances. They will also play a key role within their region to manage the relevant business relations, implement and maintain proper interface relations with government, customs authorities, bolt-on system solution providers, maintain proper contacts and contract with internal and external partners to ensure continuous quality improvement and reduce region overall operational costs.

The Regional Trade Services Manager for North America will be supported by the Global Trade Services, Compliance, and Strategy Manager to implement standard processes and improvement.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Oversee and support all BRP entities in North America in matters of trade compliance and customs.

  • Manage and control expenses related to customs and trade operations in the US and Canada.

  • Lead country-specific import/export processes, compliance audits, and supply chain security execution.

  • Supervise the classification team for manufacturing and distribution activities.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving and duty reduction opportunities.

  • Support the implementation of the Global Trade Services (GTS) structure in the region.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional business leaders, suppliers, solution providers, and customs/government authorities.

  • Collaborate with the GTS Compliance and Strategy team to define or adjust region-specific process variations.

  • Ensure implementation of global trade compliance policies and monitor regional compliance risks and opportunities.

  • Gather, evaluate, and act on key regional performance indicators.

  • Align with the LATAM GTS Manager to streamline processes and support manufacturing operations.

  • Train and influence regional business teams on trade compliance requirements and opportunities.

  • Support internal and external audit execution and follow up on improvement actions.

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for trade compliance in the region

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • 10+ years' experience in region-specific trade compliance management function.

  • 3+ years' experience in a people management position with direct reports.

  • In-depth regulatory knowledge related to the region, including compliance, valuation, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), classification, taxation on import, export, etc.

  • Very good understanding of trade compliance terminology.

  • Previous experience in project management.

  • Ability to travel to other international locations as needed.

  • Available to work onsite at least 3x per week in the El Paso, TX office.

Preferred:

  • Accredited Trade Compliance certification.

  • Experience in the automotive industry.

  • Licensed custom broker certification.
