Overview:We are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of a customer-facing healthcare application that empowers health plans and providers to deliver better patient care and improved healthcare outcomes. This is a high-impact role requiring deepfrontend/backendexpertise, distributed systems design, and hands-on development skills within a cloud-native, microservices-based environment.This position brings subject matterexpertiseas a functional lead and is tasked with ensuringa high levelof discipline and productivity

You will work on mission-critical systems that manage sensitive health data, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor engineers across teams. Your work will directly influence the quality and scalability of our platform used by thousands of healthcare professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Design, build andmaintainscalable data pipelines and access patterns related tohealthcare.


  • Research, evaluate andutilizenew technologies/tools/frameworks centered around high-volume data processing inAWS.


  • Document and estimate technical scope and design asneeded.


  • Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages prevalent in the big dataecosystem.


  • Involve and drive a culture of collaborative reviews of designs,codeand testplans.


  • Workwith businessstakeholdersand architecture engineering leads to ensure quality solutions are implemented and engineering standard methodologiesadheredto.


  • DevOps Focus - Utilize and advance continuous integration and deploymentframeworks.


  • Providestrong technical leadership, raise the technical bar,maintaindata andresults-drivenculture, nurture a team culture of high collaboration andtrust.


  • Influence and coach junior engineers both within and outside of your team; be a role model foran open, honest, and inclusive approach to problemsolving.


  • Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements asoutlined within Employer's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all timeswith respect to any aspect of the data handled or servicesrenderedin the scope of work; and


  • Maintain compliance withInovalon'spolicies,proceduresand missionstatements, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may bereasonably providedby Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success.


Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years ofexperiencein software development & architecture


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in front-end architecture and UI leadership.


  • Strong hands-onexpertisewith


  • .NETCore/ C#


  • Angular or React


  • Microservices, Rest API's, Event driven architecture


  • CloudPlatforms:AWS(Preferred), GCP, Azure


  • PostgreSQL/SQL Server/ Dynamo DB


  • Proficient in architecture patterns: layered, cleanarchitecture,etc.


  • ProactivelyidentifiesUI/UX improvements or performance bottlenecks


  • Excellent Verbal & written communication skills


  • Strong problem-solving, debugging & Performance tuningskills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experienceworking with distributed teams and global delivery models.Experienceleading,mentoringand coaching technology teams.


  • Prior experience working in healthcare or health-tech environments.


  • Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, or healthcare-specific data standards.


  • Active contributor to open-source projects or internal technical communities.



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e., sittingforlong periodsof time).


  • Subjecttoinsideenvironmental conditions.


  • Travel for this position will include less than 10%locally,usually for training purposes.


Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$165,000 $220,000 USD

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship (e.g. H-1B, TN, or E-3). Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States as a condition of employment. (This is only applicable for US-based positions)
