The Sr. Audit Analyst is responsible for supporting UnitedHealthcare Payment Integrity as a liaison with internal and external partners. The position is accountable for responding to program integrity related reviews, audits, and inquiries. This role is responsible for aligning policies and procedures to contractual requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, completing, and participating with internal and external regulatory audits
  • Establish and implement standard policies, procedures processes and best practices across the company to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations
  • Conduct state-specific research and monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve compliance
  • Support the collection of data for regulatory filings and audits, coordinate and develop reports, projects and use assessment tools to verify compliance
  • Create regulatory reporting
  • Attend various in-person and virtual meetings with auditors, regulators, and/or stakeholders
  • Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business segment across UnitedHealth Group

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience working in a government, legal, health care, managed care and/or health insurance environment in a regulatory, privacy or compliance role
  • Experience communicating complex information via phone conversations and emails to non-technical clients, external customers, internal customers and executives
  • Experience interacting & collaborating with a variety of stakeholders (other team members, internal customers and executives)
  • Ability to travel to attend various in-person and virtual meetings with auditors, regulators, and/or stakeholders
  • Intermediate or better proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Prior experience with a healthcare insurance company or regulatory agency
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, to include written and verbal forms of communication
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Ability to participate in audits, state meetings, legal proceedings, arbitrations, depositions, etc.
  • Ability to develop goals and objectives, track progress and adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and ad hoc requests
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in health care fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) investigations
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in state and federal regulatory FWA requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Compliance Program policies, procedures and documentation standards
  • Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Achievement-oriented to meet regulatory deadlines
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Solid analytical, problem solving, decision-making and time management skills; ability to exercise sound judgment, including when to escalate or seek guidance

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
