DEKA has an exciting position for a Product Development Automation Electrical Designer. The successful applicant will have an excellent attention to detail and excellent documentation skills. The applicant must have a knowledge of modern industrial control systems including PLCs, safety systems, and motor drives and schematic capture programs such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.

How you will make an impact:
As a member of the DEKA team, the Product Development Automation Electrical Designer will work as member of DEKA's innovative product teams to design machine control and automation circuits for motor drives with feedback, safety systems, and various types of sensors. The Product Development Automation Electrical Designer create schematics representing these designs, and develop electrical panel layouts and bills of materials to aid the assembly technicians.
  • Specify, design, and manage the schematic diagrams for new and existing automated production equipment
  • Create and manage the electrical CAD for all automated equipment, setting standards for the company where needed
  • Guide technicians in troubleshooting automated equipment
  • Assist with assembly, bring-up, and troubleshooting of new automation equipment
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience with designing and documenting industrial control systems
  • Understanding and ability to use AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical to create and maintain high quality industrial control schematic diagrams
  • Ability to use common electrical hand tools and troubleshooting equipment such as DMM and current clamps to effectively build and troubleshoot machines
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently, as well as work within a diverse team environment is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities daily
