Overview
 The Certified Occupational Therapist assistant (COTA) treats patients of all ages and performs Occupational Therapy treatment as, supervised by a Licensed Occupational Therapist. Qualifications Certifications: IL COTA license BLS 30 days Education: Associate degree Occupational therapy assistant , Work Experience: Responsibilities Follows the Occupational Therapist's (OT) Plan of Care and appropriately suggests treatment changes, based on patient response.Administers the use of therapeutic activity and corrective exercise to enhance functional performance.Guides in the selection and provides patient education in the use of adaptive equipment.Adheres to safety precautions and appropriate guarding techniques necessary to protect self and patient.Enhances professional development through participation in educational programs and inservice education.Provides patient documentation according to department policy, including treatment notes and patient response to treatment.Provides Occupational Therapy treatment interventions, based on the Plan of Care, established by the evaluating OT (Neonates, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics).Completes daily documentation and charging in the Therapy EMR.Provides training to patients on ADL's, including self-care and home-making activities.Communicates with the OT on patient treatment interventions. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $23.19per hour - $38.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
