What to Expect

Tesla seeks an innovative Business Integration Engineer in the Technical Operations team to drive the seamless integration of business and regulatory policies with streamlined systems and controls within our Service organization. You'll build complex payment channel controls, repair correction code governance, and billing audits into reliable, scalable logic that identifies cost-saving opportunities, hardens compliance, and accelerates the transition to automated service experiences.

The nature of this role is multi-disciplinary-you'll work at the intersection of software product development, compliance, and finance to directly impact billing accuracy, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. Expect collaboration with diverse teams to test and refine solutions, balancing rapid innovation with robust reliability in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee correction-code controls, internal automation, and guardrails for billing audit processes, streamlining workflows in close partnership with Product Managers (PMs), IT, Finance, and Engineering teams
  • Structure ambiguous policy or technical scenarios into repeatable frameworks and reliable system logic to cut revenue leakage and strengthen compliance
  • Design rule attributes and deploy backend rules engines through regular releases or phased rollouts, while building comprehensive logic documentation for instrumentation and monitoring
  • Collaborate directly with field stakeholders to pilot new logics and workflows, gather feedback, and ensure seamless adoption across service operations
  • Identify streamlining opportunities, then design and present solutions to senior leadership, prioritizing high-impact changes based on risk assessments, business impact, cost-benefit analyses, and basic UX considerations for intuitive systems
  • Develop ROI analyses, automated testing, and feature performance monitoring to quantify impacts, with clear goals and milestones for each iteration to track progress for leadership and stakeholders
  • Develop processes to automate reporting and audits, ensuring timely adherence to compliance requirements while driving measurable drops in misuse and higher operational efficiency

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Financial Technology, or a related field, or proven professional experience in technical roles within the automotive, technology, or consulting industries
  • Proficiency with feature testing, designing user scenarios, and basic UX awareness to build reliable, user-friendly systems in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in writing production-quality code in Python and SQL (e.g., familiarity with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib) for ROI analysis and performance optimization is highly desirable
  • A product management mindset combined with strong analytical skills and business acumen, including the ability to translate policies into system logic and collaborate with non-technical teams in fast-paced environments
  • Self-starter qualities with strong attention to detail, organization, collaboration, and time management; ability to multitask, prioritize in ambiguity, and provide structure to unprecedented projects
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, as needed for collaboration with field teams or stakeholders
