Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead high-impact construction initiatives across its substation and transmission portfolio. Join our team of Project Managers with a positive, results-oriented attitude and the willingness to provide valuable input to our project teams. Successful candidates should have relevant experience in construction management for large-scale electrical utility construction projects. Our ideal candidate will be an organized and motivated self-starter.



Responsibilities

This Project Managers responsibilities include working closely with project teams to produce written documentation for large, fast-paced electrical utility transmission construction projects. Duties will include developing, planning, coordinating, financial control, and fulfilling technical requirements related to assigned proposals and projects.

Key Responsibilities

    Lead end-to-end execution of large-scale substation and transmission construction projects, from initiation through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with SCE's IPSEC framework (Initiate, Plan, Schedule, Execute, Close).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, environmental, regulatory, and field operations to ensure project alignment and compliance.
  • Oversee contractor performance, negotiate scope changes, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project health, milestones, and resource impacts.
  • Ensure all projects meet SCE's standards for cybersecurity, data integrity, and environmental stewardship.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of project management experience in engineering, utilities, or construction, with a focus on substations or transmission systems.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary teams and large capital budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of utility construction standards, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Experience with union workforce supervision and grid operations.
  • PMP certification or equivalent.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

The Salary range for this position is $126,000-$150,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
