Job Overview:
In this role you will develop and implement product strategies, programs, and value proposition for progressive cavity pumps and pump systems. Strategies should drive incremental growth and achieve profit objectives for the product line. You will continually develop knowledge on current products, competitive products, markets, market share, and manufacturers. You will also work closely with all areas of the business including customers, distribution, outside sales, operations, and engineering in the specification, development, and commercialization of the product line.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic: Develops, recommends and implements strategic action plans for growth and profitability of specific product lines. Creates long and short range strategic product roadmaps and marketing plans that identifies new market segments, growth opportunity, technologies, and creates new product development business plans that support overall strategic goals which are supported by voice of the customer activities.
- Product: Has strong product knowledge and understanding of how products are applied in their application. Understand key advantages of products and how these benefit the customer. Maintains continuous surveillance, evaluation and files of competitive products including function, performance, pricing, and marketing techniques through interaction with sales, end users, and other sources. There will be a focus on development of price strategies for our products and services.
- Operational: Works within a cross functional team in the specification, development, and commercialization of new products. Ensures products are launched to the market and operational plan supports expected sales volume. Develops annual sales budgets, inclusive of pricing and margin impact. Provides input on forecast and plans on a monthly basis to the manufacturing plants.
- Marketing: Recommends the development of promotional programs, social media campaigns, literature, sales aids, sales training programs and advertising requirements for specific product lines.
- Communication/Reporting: Develops reports and metrics that measure overall performance and profitability of product line and effectively presents and communicates this information to management on a regular basis.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Product Management, Marketing, Engineering or Program Management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering (or international equivalent)
- Exceptional business acumen and excellent communication skills needed.
- The ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as distributors and customers is critical to success in this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Office with strong analytical skills.
- Understands commercial aspect of interfacing with customers to deliver a solution to meet their needs.
Core Competencies:
- Experience/demonstrated proficiency with customer facing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization and in cross-function collaborations
Preferences:
- Masters Degree (MBA)
- Experience with pump technology
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
- Travel 20-25% (domestic & international) plus regular and consistent site presence at our plant in Enon, Ohio.
