THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Assistant Administrator, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of prevention, intervention, treatment, and treatment related services; as well as developing the SCA's (Single County Authority) Prevention and Treatment Needs Assessments and related plans. Work involves overseeing submission of treatment data and assisting with the development of policies, procedures, and protocols. You will have the opportunity to serve as a resource to providers regarding a wide range of administrative and professional matters such as fiscal and programmatic performance, contract compliance, state requirements, quality of care, and additional topics in order to achieve contract objectives. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the review or service proposals and selection of providers
  • Providing technical assistance in relation to interpretation and implementation of program requirements
  • Assisting with managing the availability of funds for in-house contracted services
  • Compiling reports
  • Directing case management responsibilities
  • Assisting with assessing provider and staff training needs
  • Delivering presentations to various county and community groups on services provided
  • Acting as the county liaison in absence of the Administrator

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and six (6) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one (1) year supervising human service professionals; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and four (4) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one (1) year supervising human service professionals; or
  • A Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in medicine, chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a specialty in nursing/health administration, nursing/counseling education or a clinical specialty in the human services) or other behavioral sciences, public administration or business management and two (2) years of professional experience providing direct service and/or program planning in a human service agency, including one (1) year supervising human service professionals.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Luzerne County. If no eligible candidates who live within Luzerne County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
