Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Provides administrative, analytical and technical support and expertise necessary for the operation of the Credentials Verification Office and/or Medical Staff Services Department and the functioning of the credentialing process.
Essential Functions

Works with physicians and advanced practice providers who seek to be credentialed at a Prisma Health entity. Reviews, gathers, investigates and analyzes data pertaining to credentialing and/or privileging of providers. Using discretionary ability, determines, according to whether an applicant/reapplicant meets the credentialing and/or privileging standards and requirements of Prisma Health. Assesses data for features that require additional investigation Prepares provider information and submits such information to physicians and other leaders to evaluate to determine whether recommendation for approval of credentials will be made to the Prisma Health Board of Directors. Develops relationships with and serves as liaison with hospital leaders and applicants for appointment/reappointment or clinical privileges Maintains provider electronic records according to departmental standards and guidelines. Maintains working knowledge of accreditation and regulatory requirements and participates in the presentation of provider records to surveyors, as assigned. Coordinates committee meetings as assigned. Maintains minutes according to departmental standards. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be needed/required to meet emergency situations with regard to the department.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
Minimum Requirements
Education - High School diploma or equivalent Experience - Five (5) years of administrative/clerical responsibility in a Healthcare setting, including 3 years' experience in Medical Staff Services or a related setting in administrative support, allied health credentialing or certification. Database management experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Considerable knowledge in administration and management, medical terminology, principles of medical staff organization and healthcare finance, accreditation and healthcare law. Ability to analyze administrative problems and make appropriate decisions. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with Medical Staff and other professionals in order to engender confidence, respect, and dependability. Ability to maturely handle a variety of problems and situations, often of a critical or urgent nature using considerable independence and sound judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of position. Organizational and communication skills Interpersonal ability and initiative Attention to detail Ability to analyze and problem solve Technical ability to utilize software programs for database management, report writing as well as word processing.
