About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Assistance Counselor II (PAC) to support patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing high out-of-pocket medical and prescription expenses. This role is integral to helping patients access specialty medications through a patient assistance program, ensuring compassionate and efficient service to both patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities * Provide high-quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers regarding specialty prescriptions. * Review and process patient applications, including insurance investigations and financial assessments. * Communicate outcome statuses clearly and professionally to patients and providers. * Maintain compliance with all program guidelines and confidentiality standards. Hours * Will be ASSIGNED a shift between 7:00am-7:00pm CST Mon-Fri - Candidates do not get to pick their shifts Requirements * Insurance verification and prior authorization expertise (5+ years) * Experience with working denied claims for commercial and government payors (5+ years) * Call center experience (5+ years). * High school diploma or equivalent. * A secure, private location to work from daily with fast and secure internet access. Preferred Skills * Professional appearance and adherence to dress code. * Strong attendance and punctuality; reliability is critical to contract extension. * Deep understanding of commercial and government insurance programs, billing, reimbursement, prior authorizations, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy. * Strong technical proficiency and attention to detail. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Positive and empathetic approach to customer service, even in challenging situations. * Minimum 5 years of experience in a regulated benefits environment. #priorityeast *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
