A Senior Manager within our Disputes, Claims, and Investigations group will have consulting assignments across a variety of industries and receive significant client exposure. Assignments primarily consist of overseeing the completion of various types of economic damages calculations and/or related financial analyses in litigation, as well as fraud and forensic matters. These matters may include forensic investigations, intellectual property disputes, and economic damages in complex commercial litigation and other types of business disputes. Senior Managers are assigned to project teams, working under the direction of engagement leaders while directing Analysts and/or Associates.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead or co-lead the day-to-day execution of engagements, with primary responsibility for coordinating and executing the engagement workplan.

  • Oversee the creation of engagement analyses, including financial analysis and modeling.

  • Manage document organization processes, including the review, organization, and analysis of case documentation, testimony, court filings, and identifying relevant information utilized for analysis.

  • Manage day-to-day activities of Analysts and Associates.

  • Work with engagement leaders to strategize engagement approach; develop engagement workplans; oversee and monitor engagement progress on a daily basis; and report to engagement leadership on engagement progress and critical path items.

  • Assist with the management of client relationships with and without supervision.

  • Perform and manage company, industry, and case-specific research functions, including technical, economic, accounting, and/or market research to support the basis for our analyses, assumptions, and conclusions.

  • Draft, review, and refine written reports, presentations, and visual exhibits.

  • Prepare and evaluate expert reports and supporting materials for testimony.

  • Develop and review demonstrative reports and exhibits for clarity and effectiveness.

  • Recreate and analyze models and exhibits presented by opposing experts.

Analytics Responsibilities:

  • Lead tailored approaches, methods, deliverables, and tools to support projects.

  • Plan and oversee all aspects of small to medium-sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects.

  • Conduct data analyses and develop financial or forecasting models using transactional and financial sales data.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents across multiple engagements.

  • Understanding of financial documents used in day-to-day business operations and transactions.

  • Proficient in using spreadsheet software (Excel), database software, and other data analysis tools to build detailed, complex financial models to trace actual transactions and/or create flexible and robust scenario analyses; statistical, economic, and/or population modeling are a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to develop and critique alternative arguments and opinions.

  • Ability to conduct and/or direct others in thorough and relevant research.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with changing, client-imposed deadlines.

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics.

  • At least 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance, or economic disciplines. Prior experience in litigation consulting, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, professional/public accounting, and/or assurance/audit is preferred.

  • CPA or other relevant designation is preferred.

  • Proficient technical skills, including the ability to independently perform complex data analyses using at least one programming language (e.g., SQL, SAS, Stata, R, etc.). SQL is required.

  • Ability to support DOJ matters including the ability to obtain the appropriate level of clearance is required.

The range for this role considers several factors including but not limited to prior work and industry experience, education level, and unique skills. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
