Continental Electronics Corporation is seeking a Senior Accountant, based out of Dallas, TX.

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with over 75 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.

The Senior Accountant will possess significant accounting experience and outstanding reconciliation and analysis skills. The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to the monthly close process, handling a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. It will be critical to this individual's success that he/she be a versatile team member with the ability to reconcile and analyze complex accounts in an expeditious manner.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the monthly close process to ensure an accurate and timely close
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations that range in complexity.
  • Prepares general ledger entries, maintains records and files, and reconciles G/L accounts and transactions by comparing and correcting data where necessary
  • Review and document sales contracts and drafts memos outlining proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC606
  • Coordinate with Staff Accountants to ensure that AR and AP activities are performed properly, accurately and timely
  • Participate in all financial and internal control compliance audits to ensure a strong SOX-compliant control environment.
  • Interface with the external auditors on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and controls with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging key systems
  • Support Controller with special projects.

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or commensurate experience
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong accounting background including thorough knowledge of revenue recognition principles, manufacturing/standard costing and project accounting.
  • Ability to multitask and perform against challenging deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Outstanding reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with other business areas to resolve issues or implement process improvements.
  • Strong Excel user with a high level of proficiency in other MS Office products required.
  • Manufacturing, Government Contracts and Deltek Costpoint ERP experience preferrred.
  • Experience with Microsoft D365, Hyperion, HFM and FDM are desired but not required.
