Neurodevelopmental Disorders Outpatient Specialty Program Director/Psychologist (Ph.D., Psy.D.)

Job Summary:

The CU DCAMH, PMHI, and CHCO are combining to transform children's mental health care in Colorado, building a coordinated system, grounded in collaboration and partnership, that provides all children high-quality, evidence-based, youth- and family-centered care through an ambitious and comprehensive strategic plan. As part of this transformative work, we are creating comprehensive, evidence-based, outpatient specialty care programs, including a Neurodevelopmental Disorders Outpatient Specialty Program. We are looking for a psychologist to join our efforts in becoming a national leader in the assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The psychologist in this role will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and delivery of innovative, evidence-based, world class clinical care for all youth and families served in the outpatient neurodevelopmental disorders specialty program in the PMHI/CHCO.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Administrative Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PMHI Leadership, Division Leadership and other Program Directors to design and implement evidence-based clinical programming for neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Collaborate with PMHI Leadership, Division Leadership and other Program Directors to coordinate and collaborate on initiatives, projects, and processes within and across programs
• Collaborate with the PMHI Outpatient Clinical Director to set standards of practice within the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program
• Collaborate with PMHI and Divisional Leadership in programmatic/clinic operations, tactical planning, and regulatory efforts
• Lead efforts to monitor and maintain fidelity to standards of practice and the clinical model of the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program
• Conduct ongoing assessment of clinical services in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program to ensure effectiveness of care being provided
• Lead quality improvement activities in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program
• Coordinate and conduct high-quality research in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program

Clinical Care Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to patients and families seen in PMHI clinical services
• Collaborate with internal and external providers involved in a patient's care to coordinate on the treatment plan and progress
• Provide clinical consultation for complex cases
• Conduct psychological assessment and/or functional assessments with patients, as appropriate. Use results of assessments to inform development of individualized treatment plans and/or behavior plans, as needed

Other Responsibilities/All Faculty Requirements

• Contribute to the DOP teaching and scholarship in ways consistent with the expectations of CU faculty, advancing the standing of the Department
• Engage in service to the department, hospital, and local/regional/national organizations
• Maintain eligibility for CU faculty appointment

Supervision Received

The Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program Director reports to the PMHI Outpatient Clinical Director, with matrixed reporting to the PMHI Chief of Psychology for mentorship.

Supervision Exercised

The Neurodevelopmental Disorders Specialty Program Director will supervise (e.g., hire, terminate, discipline, and approve leave) faculty BHCs and psychologists with a primary appointment in the Neurodevelopmental Disorders OP Specialty Program. Other supervisory responsibilities include:

• Provide clinical supervision to the clinical care team
• Provide in-vivo modeling and coaching of clinical team members to support and enhance clinical care provided
• Provide ongoing training to clinical care team to ensure fidelity to clinical model
• Provide supervision and mentorship to mental health trainees rotating through the Neurodevelopmental Disorders OP Specialty Program
• Lead a weekly clinical team meeting

Work Location: Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Instructor: $105,000 to $120,000

Senior Instructor: $105,000 to $120,000

Assistant Professor: $105,000 to $120,000

Associate Professor: $130,000 to $145,000

Professor: $175,000 to $205,000

This position is eligible for an administrative leadership stipend that can range from $6,000 to $9,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks):

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience following completion of a postdoctoral fellowship that includes clinical and administrative responsibilities, preferably focused on neurodevelopmental disorders

* Experience working in an academic medical center

* Experience working in an APA-accredited training program

* Preference will be given to those who are eager to engage in all aspects of the academic mission (clinical, teaching, scholarship, and service)

* Eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Clinical expertise in flexibly providing evidence-based assessment, treatment, and consultation to young children and their families

* Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical programming in a complex and fast-paced environment

* Ability to convene stakeholders and lead a change management process

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Effective time management and organizational skills

* Ability to provide effective supervision to mental health trainees and consultation with other mental health professionals

* Knowledge of research and quality improvement methodology, as well as the ability to independently conduct research and/or quality improvement projects
