Johns Hopkins Community Physicians is seeking a Program Director, Strategic Initiatives to support the organization's continued growth and evolution-particularly the expansion of specialty services in the community and other key initiatives aligned with the JHM strategic plan in ambulatory services. Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy, this role is responsible for leading high-impact programs from planning through execution, with a strong emphasis on business planning, financial operations, performance monitoring, and cross-departmental coordination. While a primary focus will be on launching and optimizing specialty services, the Program Director will also contribute to other organization-wide programmatic initiatives that enhance care delivery, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:



  • Driving the development, implementation, and performance improvement of new and existing programs.
  • Ensuring business plans are financially viable and operationally executable in collaboration with Finance, Medical Affairs, Operations and the Office of the President.
  • Overseeing the setup of new programs within billing, financial, and operational systems, and ensuring readiness across teams and providers.
  • Leveraging data and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement efforts.

Location: 6225 Smith Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229, remote (hybrid)

Shift: Exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week

Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or Business Administration. Master's preferred.
  • Work experience: A minimum of seven years' experience in leading and successfully managing multiple projects/initiatives involving teams, operational processes, clinical or technical information, and data analyses. Ability to translate this experience in healthcare if experience is in domains other than healthcare. A minimum of three years' experience in a management position with demonstrated employee engagement. Strong leadership skills, including mentoring staff in project management tools principles and approaches.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of project management, change management and systems engineering practices, process improvement frameworks, management systems, and business intelligence.
  • Required Licensure Certification: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or INCOSE Systems Engineering certification preferred. Experience level may substitute for certification. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), American Society for Quality (ASQ), and other relevant safety and quality certifications preferred but not required.


Salary Range: Minimum 48.29/hour - Maximum 77.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
