Position Summary

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of designated program areas that provide counseling services for children with mental health needs. This role includes supervising staff, reviewing patient referrals, assigning cases, responding to emergencies, and ensuring high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.



Key Responsibilities



  • Assist the Program Director in shaping program philosophy, developing policies and procedures, and resolving patient care or personnel issues
  • Supervise and guide staff providing individual, group, and family counseling for children with substance use and/or mental health concerns Supervise and guide staff who are providing individual, group and family therapy for children, adolescents and young adults between the ages of 5 and 22. Ability to provide clinical supervision to staff who utilize DBT, CBT, IPT-A and M.I. required
  • Support hiring decisions and provide input on staff performance, discipline, and termination when necessary
  • Establish and maintain relationships with referral sources both within and outside the local community
  • Monitor therapy services through chart reviews, supervisory meetings sessions, clinical team meetings, and direct observation to ensure quality care
  • Participate in intake assessments and contribute to admission decisions, particularly for high-risk or vulnerable children
  • Ensure adherence to treatment protocols and compliance with all state, federal, and medical center regulations
  • Conduct clinical assessments to determine the severity of substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges and recommend appropriate treatment plans for patients on own caseload
  • Compile reports, data summaries, and statistical analyses for use by the Program Director and/or Manager and to meet reporting requirements for regulatory agencies
  • Develop or revise clinical assessment tools, documentation forms, and related materials as needed
  • May oversee administrative and clerical functions, ensuring that office systems support efficient program operations



Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field



Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment with children



Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Maryland

Salary Range: Minimum 37.87/hour - Maximum 66.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
