The Director, Market Access Strategy & Marketing position is responsible for leading the development of Market Access marketing strategies and tactics for The Uro-Oncology Business Unit of Ferring Pharmaceuticals Uro-Oncology product including A) go-to-market recommendations, B) payer and trade channel strategy, C) market access value propositions and promotional tools, D) Specialty Pharmacy Execution E) Patient Services Support Strategy including Field Reimbursement F) internal communication resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, design, and coordinate the development of the overarching Market Access strategy for Ferring's Uro-Oncology Asset.

  • Lead development of strong product value propositions for payers, health systems, and trade for Ferring launch products.

  • Lead Manager of Market Access focused on development and tactical execution with field teams.

  • Develop impactful promotional tools that effectively convey the value of Ferring products to Market Access customers. Develop and oversee effective training for account teams and ensure effective execution of value messaging and strategy.

  • Identify new opportunities and support implementation (e.g., go-to-market recommendations, scenario planning, refined account segmentation, partnerships with key customers).

  • Monitor the dynamic and evolving US Market Access environment (e.g., market research, analytics, health policy, customer meetings) and evaluate potential implications.

  • Develop resources to communicate the impact of Market Access initiatives to internal stakeholders.

  • Provide Market Access input to cross-functional partners and initiatives (e.g., pull through, training, evidence gaps).

  • Manage external vendors to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Develop Market Access framework and process that supports NAD/RAD account planning, management capabilities and pull through programming.

  • Oversee the tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the payer and trade channels for Ferring's Uro-Oncology Asset.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Science or related area required.

  • Advanced degrees are desirable (e.g., MPH, MBA, PhD, PharmD).

  • 10+ years in pharma or biotech industry, including at least 9 years of Market Access or Marketing experience.

  • Expertise in the US market access environment (e.g., payers, health systems, pharmacies, health policy and reimbursement).

  • US Market Access launch experience preferred.

  • Buy and Bill expertise.

  • Oncology Market Access experience strongly preferred.

  • Consulting experience is desirable.

  • Key initiatives completed on time and on budget.

  • Develop a clear strategy and consistently execute prioritized tactics.

  • Retain and improve market access for key Ferring products as defined by KPIs.

  • Internal partners understand Market Access needs.

  • Ability to develop and execute strategies and tactics for a diverse product portfolio.

  • Self-motivated, agile and collaborative.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Some travel is required (up to 20% of time).

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting approximately 3 - 4 hours at a time while driving or as a passenger and operating an automobile up to 60% of the time depending upon the geography of the territory.

  • Walking up to 15% of the time depending upon the geography of the territory.

  • Climbing stairs and/or ramps may be required in certain urban territories where the use of public transportation may be necessary during the course of the work day.

  • Standing, more than 1 -2 hours at a time.

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling items such as laptop, iPad, printed material and product samples weighing up to 20 pounds, into and out of a car, train or airplane and into physician offices and/or medical facilities.

  • Long distance travel via airplane or other commercial conveyance approximately 2-3 times per year. Additional overnight and/or longer distance travel may be required more frequently, depending upon the territory.

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring, base salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $138,460 to $257,140, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, education and primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to 120 hours in the first four (4) years of employment, and 160 hours in the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as 15 paid holidays per year.
