MH Licensure Investigations Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division of Administrative and Regulatory Services/ Office of Licensure Memphis, TN Monthly Salary: $4,450.00 - $6,658.00 CLOSING DATE: 08/11/2025

Travel can vary based on need, typically 10 - 20% of investigations require travel in West Tennessee region. This role is work from home unless onsite conducting investigations.

Job Overview:
Under general supervision, this classification is responsible for performing complex investigative work pertaining to all allegations of client abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and other incidents as required. An employee of this class is assigned to conduct and manage the investigatory process as assigned. An incumbent of this class differs from the MH/IDD Investigator Supervisor in that the latter supervises the work of incumbents in this class.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Reviews all allegations of abuse, mistreatment, neglect, etc., and prepares written results of investigations and findings as needed to be shared with appropriate parties.
  2. Manages assigned caseload to ensure a timely review consistent with assigned deadlines.
  3. Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, etc., as required for an investigation.
  4. Participates in orientation and training as assigned.
  5. Provides information that may be used by leadership for continuous performance improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three years of professional investigative experience.
