DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This entry-level fiscal position is in the Behavioral Health & Developmental Support Program. As an Accountant 1, your analytical skills are key as you work with operating expenses and incoming provider invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with rules and regulations. Your work will include preparing account payable vouchers, identifying the applicable cost center, and obtaining administrative approval of the vouchers. You will have the opportunity to compile data for operating and contracted provider expenses to assist in the preparation of the county budget. This position utilizes various computerized or manual accounting documents including legers and spreadsheets for report generation. Maintaining accurate inventory lists for internal tracking and fiscal reporting purposes will be included in your duties. If you are highly motivated and detail oriented, we want you on our team! Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
