Sr. IT Financial Analyst

Overview:

Responsible for supporting the financial management and procurement operations within the IT organization. Partners closely with IT leadership to support financial planning, forecasting, cost tracking, reporting and analysis, while also facilitating the execution of procurement activities including purchase requisitions, invoice lifecycle management, IT spend reconciliation, contract renewals and investment analysis. Ensures compliance with all internal policies and provides recommendations for optimizing IT spend through in-depth analysis and data-driven insights. Manages the firm's resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude.

Responsibilities:

Position

  • Proactively supports the annual budgeting and forecast modeling process by collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to capture detailed operating and project spend information and prepares the IT capital and expense plans
  • Monitors and analyzes monthly financial results against budget and forecast, identifies the root causes to variances, and collaborates with stakeholders to address and resolve the underlying issues driving the financial deviations
  • Produces annual, quarterly, and monthly financial reports and works with stakeholders to update forecasts
  • Coordinates, researches, and analyzes data in partnership with other finance & accounting functions to answer questions related to the IT financials
  • Provides additional ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by leadership
  • Participates in the monthly and quarterly business reviews to explain budgets, forecasts, trends, and variance explanations
  • Tracks, coordinates, and manages all recurring financial events, including software renewals, true-ups, and other cyclical activities across annual, quarterly, and monthly cycles
  • Processes and tracks IT purchase requests, billing, invoicing, and the payment of IT expenditures
  • Conducts reviews and evaluations of technology-related expenditures and purchase requests, approving or rejecting submissions based on strategic alignment, financial justification, and policy compliance
  • Promotes a culture of accountability and collaboration ensuring the timely, accurate, and consistent delivery of all work requests
  • Continuously monitors industry and technology trends to drive workflow improvements and operational efficiency
  • Provides after-hours support as needed for urgent time sensitive situations
  • Performs other duties assigned by leadership

Revenue or Opportunity Generation

  • May assist in maintaining and cultivating essential relationships

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Typically with 10+ years of experience in financial planning, procurement, analysis; with 7+ years of experience working deeply with or in an IT department
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) with particular focus on advanced Excel capabilities
  • Proficient in reporting software (Power BI, Fabric, Tableau, or equivalent)
  • Proficient in financial ERP software (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting IT budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization and financial analysis
  • Experience working in enterprise environments with cross-functional stakeholders (IT, finance, legal, vendors, security, etc.)
  • Proven background in IT procurement lifecycle management, including proposal analysis, quoting, purchase requests, invoicing, billing and renewal management
  • Deep familiarity with software licensing, entitlement models, cloud financial management and technology cost allocation
  • Strong financial modeling, planning, researching, and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for executive reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality, accurate results
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time Ability to communicate and present ideas in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
  • Ability to hold sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to proactively use innovative solutions to solve problems
  • Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment, and ability to work independently and prioritize work
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities at the same time
