Position Objective:

The primary responsibility of the Calibration technician is to calibrate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot testing and inspecting instrumentation and equipment for manufacturing to ensure conformance to established standards. This includes working with vendors for outside calibration services and ordering the necessary parts for repair.

Ensures that all areas outlined under "Principal Responsibilities" are accomplished in an efficient and professional manner to support Artivion, Inc.

Responsibilities:



  • Tests, calibrates, and repairs testing and inspections equipment's Established standards, and assists in formulating calibration standards, calibration procedures and methods.
  • Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment, according to blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and/or other specifications.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects components for defects. Measures parts for conformity with specifications. Reassembles, Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances/calibrates component parts/instruments and circuitry.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain, care and use of calibration reference standards.
  • Meet all applicable regulatory requirements. Compliance with the requirements of ISO13485, and the company Quality Manual and calibration policy.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates -- Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Promptly respond to customer enquiries and provide technical advice and support as required.
  • Identify and report any and all quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization.
  • Ensure all work orders, vendor service reports, time and expense reports, purchase orders and other duties are documented in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure all test equipment is tracked and 100% calibrated on time.
  • Ensure all maintenance, repair and calibration of equipment is carried out and completed to schedule, in accordance with specifications, standards and requirements.
  • Ensure all calibration activities are accurately documented /recorded. Technical reports are prepared in a timely manner and with detailed such as calibration certification, service reports, quality trend reports, etc.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to electronic Calibration and Preventive Maintenance software, including reporting for monthly KPI metrics and Management Review inputs.


Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's Degree or Technical School preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in any of the following: calibration, electronic systems and/or electronic control devices
  • Minimum one year experience in a regulated industry (i.e., pharmaceutical, biomedical, medical device field or related field) with an in-depth knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, Quality System Regulations, and ISO Standards
