The University of Arizona's Parking and Transportation Services department is seeking to fill their Manager, Alternative Transportation position. This position will manage alternative transportation programs and provide transportation expertise in support of planning by campus partners, assist with coordinated planning initiatives with city/county agencies, and support planning activities initiated by Parking & Transportation Services (PTS). Position requires proactive and continual review of current programs with the intent of adding or improving service, increasing users and ensuring cost effectiveness with an emphasis on providing excellence in customer service. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Directly oversee commuter and alternative transportation programs that include: campus bicycle programs, ride and car-sharing programs, U-Pass transit program, annual employee travel reduction survey and travel reduction programs and departmental grant submissions and management as well as other programs. Includes supervising staff, training, scheduling, evaluation, and discipline. Accountable for setting goals and objectives for team members to achieve standards and outcomes. Communicates performance expectations and conducts performance evaluations while maintaining a healthy culture.
- Research, recommend, develop, implement, and manage new or revised programs and services, including program goals and objectives; plan and direct these programs as part of transportation operations, ensure coordination with vendors and resources, and promote alternative transportation use on campus.
- Analyze transportation systems, policies, and facilities, identify problems and potential solutions; evaluate alternatives; make recommendations on policies, plans and projects; participate in the implementation of adopted solutions and projects. Problems faced may be varied and solutions are guided by policies and practices but may not have a prescribed solution and require some analysis to understand and resolve. Responsible for creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures. Explains policies, standards, and processes of the job area to others within and outside of the work unit.
- Conduct short and long-range planning, designing and facilitating necessary data gathering and analysis. Actively seek to participate in institution's Master Plan and regional planning. Responsible for annual budget(s) and tracking expenditures.
- Collaborate with others to evaluate grant opportunities and funding options, producing proposals for alliances and/or partnerships to further the objectives of Parking & Transportation Services programs, including participation in grant application/proposal development teams.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous work experience in a college/university setting.
- Previous work experience in transportation planning.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
