Position Highlights |
The Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine Services (EMS) is recruiting a Facilitator II for its Research Certificate Program. This role serves as the primary educator and liaison between students, the certificate program director, and faculty. Additionally, the selected incumbent will play an integral role in the EMS data analysis process. Key responsibilities include retrieving, compiling, and interpreting medical data, as well as overseeing EMS data entry, analysis, and reporting for various Administrative Medical Direction contracts and grant-funded projects. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Set-up and maintain D2L sites for courses (RA1, RA2, & RA3).
- Maintain syllabus and work with the course director to update information.
- Upload required material, quizzes, and other course materials to D2L.
- Coordinate in-person and virtual classroom activities including delivery of selected instructional material, coordination of primary and guest instructor lectures, track attendance, grade quizzes / exams and enter grades for faculty review, and answer student questions.
- Coordinate all aspects of clinical rotations for RA students and/or other students that need clinical approval for educational time in a Banner facility including access to My Clinical Exchange, required training, communication, scheduling, and monitoring and tracking working hours.
- Maintain RC program equipment during normal office hours.
- Maintain office hours for RC Students (TBD annually based on enrollment and RC Program Director).
- Maintain a functional knowledge of EMS and EM research projects the RC program students are currently working on.
- Run EMS agency ePCR queries to identify cases.
- Perform data entry for index cases including OHCA, TBI, Versed, and others as needed QI projects.
- Perform data downloads from cardiac monitors, online databases and agency specific datasets to convert the data into reports using standard and/or specialized software.
- Assist with the implementation and integration of EMS agency and Health Information Exchange system data.
- Coordinate the collection and reporting of EMS Agency & Hospital data for medical directors.
- Coordinate data exchange with Base Hospitals and Administrative Medical team for index.
- Coordinate with various other EMS agencies to review cases in which shared patient care occurred.
- Download medical records, cases, and data files for medical director review.
- Collaborate with Research Certificate Program Director, Course Instructors, Research Investigators, EMS Agency Leadership, Research Coordinators, Project Managers, and Research Certificate students.
- Attend weekly Quality Improvement meetings.
- Attend a minimum of 75% of Bi-weekly degree program meetings, Bi-weekly RC Program leadership meetings, and EMS agency internal committee meetings.
- Attend EMS Division Meetings, EMS research Meetings, DEM staff meetings, and COM or UA educational or career development events as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Emergency Medicine Services Data and Quality Management.
- Skill in producing effective written communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet project deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Master's degree or higher required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience coordinating student clinical rotations.
- Experience coordinating clinical research training programs.
