Position Highlights |
BIO5 Institute at the University of Arizona is seeking Coordinator, Membership Engagement. The Membership Engagement Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for BIO5's 300+ faculty members, ensuring a positive and consistent membership experience. This role is responsible for planning and executing engagement activities, facilitating access to services and resources, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support BIO5's mission. As a key ambassador of the Institute's values and goals, the coordinator will bring strong communication, organizational, and event management skills to foster meaningful connections and promote interdisciplinary collaboration in support of research excellence and service to Arizona. The BIO5 Institute at the University of Arizona brings together world-class researchers and innovators from five core disciplines - agriculture, engineering, medicine, pharmacy and science - to collaborate for the purpose of solving today's most complex and critical problems, including:

Duties & Responsibilities |
- Plan and manage multiple member-focused events and programs
in a dynamic environment. Develop agendas, coordinate logistics, support marketing efforts in collaboration with team members, and utilize platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and other AV technologies. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring a high-quality experience. - Drive meaningful engagement between the BIO5 Institute and
its membership community by planning, coordinating, and executing interactions that align with the Institute's mission. Collaborate with leadership, faculty, and internal/external partners to implement engagement strategies, track outcomes, and recommend improvements. - Serve as a key liaison to BIO5 members, connecting them with
relevant resources and services outlined in the membership policy. Uphold and communicate University and Institute policies related to membership, and ensure members are supported in accessing their benefits. - Maintain a high level of organization and compliance with
University and BIO5 event-related procedures, including managing budgets, processing payments, and completing necessary administrative documentation. - Support the growth and development of member engagement
initiatives, including the creation and coordination of special programs such as interest groups. Proactively identify new opportunities for collaboration, foster community building among members, and contribute innovative ideas that enhance member experience and retention. - Additional duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skill in planning, analyzing and coordinating activities and
establishing priorities. - Proven ability to exercise discretion in working with highly
confidential and sensitive matters. - Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a
wide range of people at all levels of the organization. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving
abilities, including high degree of attention to detail. - Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Scheduling and event planning
- Intermediate
or advanced skills in Zoom/Teams. - Strong
customer service orientation with commitment to creating welcoming environments - Collaborative
mindset and ability to work independently

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience and 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report |
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
