The Job

Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory/statutory reports (NAIC, DMHC, DHCS, MLR) across multiple states and for multiple legal entities. Prepare month-end financial reports, account analysis and financial variance analysis. Assist with Finance Ad hoc requests.

You Will



  • Prepare regulatory/statutory financial reports, maintain sufficient accounting records, back up reports in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
  • The regulatory/statutory reports include quarterly and annual filings to the National Association of Insurance Companies ("NAIC"), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS"), the California Department of Managed Health Care ("DMHC"), the California Department of Health Care Services ("DHCS"), and other states' respective Department of Insurance ("DOI").
  • Research and interpret new updates to the Statutory Accounting Principals ("SAP"). Recommend to management regarding the adoption and impacts to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to review and update regulatory calendar deadlines and compliance documents. Prepare responses to questions and comments from regulatory (both state and federal) examiners.
  • Serve as a liaison to internal and external auditors (including regulatory auditors); prepare, support, and coordinate with accounting teams to ensure delivery of requested items.
  • Prepare month-end financial reports in conformity with GAAP - must have strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP"). Perform financial fluctuation analyses with explanations for variances to budget, forecast and/or prior periods.
  • On-going development and maintenance of Oracle Financial Reporting Studio reports including designing new reports and making back-end changes to existing reports based on customers' needs.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and prepare ad hoc reports as needed. - Partner with counterparts from affiliated organizations to standardize and align financial reports and quarterly/annual filings. Special projects, including automation and efforts to streamline and improve reporting processes. - Identify control and/or process inefficiencies and propose enhancements to the current process striving for continuous improvement. Your Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting, Finance or a related field - Required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - Preferred
  • 4+ years in Accounting, Reporting, Audit, Finance or a related field
  • Experienced in supporting both external and internal audit processes.
  • Technical expertise - Advanced analytical skills
  • Problem Solving - Basic problem-solving skills
  • Communication - Good communication and interpersonal skills
