DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for the proper handling of incoming and outgoing mail. Your duties will include opening and examining inmate letters and packages to prevent the transmission of contraband material. If contraband materials are found, you will consult with a supervisor regarding these items. You can expect to retrieve mail from the post office and coordinate the delivery of items with various institutional entities. Additionally, you will physically carry or use mailroom equipment to transport items to points of distribution. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience, including one year in the field of corrections; or
- Any combination of experience and/or training which provides the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- This position requires possession of an active PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
