Company: Next Equipment Rentals LLC Position: Aerial Lift & Material Handler Equipment Technician / Mechanic Start Date: As soon as possible Compensation: Hourly Rate - Ranging between $32 - $42, commensurate on skill sets, knowledge base, ability, education, and experience Hours per week - 40 with the likelihood of overtime during seasonal peaks Benefits: Eligible to participate in company sponsored health insurance Other Benefits: As you on-board we will be taking steps to provide for company sponsored items, including, but not limited to: Participation in Company defined contribution retirement plan, once effective Hours of Operations: Monday through Friday Generally, an 8 hour workday ranging between either; o 7 AM - 3 PM o 8 AM - 4 PM When circumstances dictate and with notification there may be after-hours service calls. (generally infrequent in occurrence) Key Responsibilities: Champion preventive maintenance programs including tracking and monitoring to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency. Description of Duties: As an In-shop/Road Tech Mechanic you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex aerial lift and material handling equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed through service & repair orders in a complete and timely manner and on a daily basis. This includes tracking of time and parts and providing for explanations of diagnosis, repairs and resolution for billable jobs. Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts Other duties assigned as needed Develop background knowledge and become familiar with the equipment the Company offers, as well as equipment the Company will be servicing for customer owned units. Develop an understanding of maintenance cycles, recommended oils & lubricants, and common failure parts & consumables to keep in stock. Track maintenance performed on each unit by fleet number and maintain documentation. Assist in stocking shop, and service truck with tools, consumables and parts needed. Perform ANSI inspections in accordance with manufacture forms as needed annually on each aerial lift. Perform inspection and repairs on equipment that is in return status line. Utilize tag in / lock out procedures as appropriate for any damage, repairs needed, and rental status. Perform daily preparation for equipment going out on rental the next day. Provide for updates to status boards, and complete & submit related inspection forms to the main office. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines Understanding of schematics and diagrams Preferred that most tools applicable to position are owned by the candidate Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs. This position is deemed safety sensitive for purposes of our Company policies and procedures Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability best practices.
