Transportation Manager

Job Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing and advising the daily operations and ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our Third Party.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Supervision of non-third party employees in relation to daily operations.
• Oversees and advises transportation of raw materials; makes sure that there is a schedule of all outgoing finished product and the transportation of such.
• Gives guidance for all routes and routing process; advise changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency.
• Makes sure our Third Party has scheduled and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
• Supports our Third Party with internal Fleet Maintenance for the repair of fleet equipment.
• Advises our Third Party with maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area.
• Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of non-third party employees.
• Keeps management advised of all performance related issues and recommends solutions.
• Maintains/monitors reports and data entry related areas to ensure performance is meeting or exceeding established Company expectations.
• Provides prompt, efficient, quality service to all customers in area.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes (Logistic).
• Supervision of non-third party employees

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record.
• Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.
• Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations. Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
• Occasionally will assist with pushing, pulling, moving or lifting up to 100lbs.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

• Job functions will be carried out at a plant location, customer locations, and in company vehicle.
