Controller

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Controller for a direct hire opportunity in Russellville, AR. This is a key leadership role overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, compliance, and payroll. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to guide financial strategy while supporting day-to-day accounting functions.

Starting Pay: $95,000/year (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit financial statements to external stakeholders
• Create combined internal financial reports for management review
• Oversee the accounting department; perform hands-on transaction posting and reconciliations
• Manage deal costing and process all vehicle transactions, including commissions
• Collaborate with management on budgeting and financial decision-making
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
• Manage and process payroll, including specific handling for sales employees
• Prepare and file payroll-related and tire-related tax forms (941, 940, W-2s, 1099s, waste tire tax, sales tax, etc.)
• Provide HR-related guidance and support to staff regarding policies, payroll, and benefits

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of accounting or controller experience (automotive or dealership experience is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, payroll processing, and tax compliance
• Proficiency in Excel and general accounting software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Leadership experience preferred
