Purchasing Manager

Staffmark is currently hiring a Purchasing Manager for a direct hire position at a fast-growing production facility in Trotwood, OH. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, parts, and services to support manufacturing operations.

Salary: $70,000-$80,000

Schedule: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday)

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short- and long-term procurement strategies aligned with production and cost objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules to optimize value and reliability.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, cost, or delivery.
• Collaborate with inventory control and production planning teams to ensure material availability and avoid delays.
• Track material usage and market trends to support competitive purchasing decisions.
• Utilize and maintain procurement functions within ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Generate reports on purchasing metrics, supplier performance, and budget adherence.
• Support new product launches by securing required materials and ensuring procurement aligns with timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (required).
• 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
• Strong skills in negotiation, contract management, and vendor development.
• Experience in lean manufacturing, cost reduction initiatives, or Just-in-Time (JIT) purchasing strategies.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, startup or greenfield manufacturing setting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
