Description

Knife River has an immediate opening for a Quarry Stripping Foreman to serve quarries in Burnet-TX, Caldwell-TX, and Groesbeck-TX. Share your skills and talents with Knife River by applying today!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Oversee the daily activites of the quarry stripping crew by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance.

Operate various heavy earthmoving equipment safely and efficiently to remove and transport overburden (soil and subsoil).

Adhere to the established plan for removing the overburden, including excavation depths, areas, and safety procedures.

Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure it's in safe and efficient working order.

Always take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others.

Enforce compliance and ensure crew members adhere to company safety policies and MSHA guidelines.

Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.

Maintain accurate records of time and production.

Address operational issues and challenges as they arise, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and implement solutions to minimize delays and downtime.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Regular and timely attendance is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of quarry operations and safety regulations is preferred.

Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is preferred.

Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).

Ability to work outside in all seasons.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.
Ability to work for long hours in all weather conditions.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work on weekends, public holidays, and at night.
Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods of time and perform physically demanding tasks.
Must have strong work ethic.
Communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
Must have basic computer skills.
Be able to multi-task.
Read blueprints.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen.
