Job Description Summary

Leading non-credit, non-degree professional development for the School of Professional Studies (SPS), Wake Forest University Executive Education (EE) seeks to deliver world-class custom executive education and open enrollment programs that contribute to the leadership and talent development efforts of its partner organizations in significant ways. The Program Manager, reporting to the Director, Program Management and Operations, is responsible for the execution of all program operations, logistics, and stakeholder coordination. This role ensures the seamless delivery of executive education and non-credit programs by managing the day-to-day processes, faculty and participant communication, and logistical details. This role also identifies strategies to improve program efficiency, enhance the learning experience, and maintain world-class program execution. The Program Manager role is client-facing and requires extensive external engagement with frequent off-site day travel that includes the ability to develop and manage relationships with prospects and customers. Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality custom and open enrollment programs that lead to superior engagement and learning for working professionals. Develop and manage project plans and timelines leading to effective program delivery and high client retention. Contribute to program proposals and Statements of Work as necessary.

  • Identify and coordinate program meeting sites and oversee communications and material preparation for program attendees. Maintain consistent presence for the duration of the program- be the EE face to participants. Ensure participant and client needs are met, both in and out of the classroom.

  • Engage exceptional faculty to lead the design and delivery of custom and open programs to ensure appropriate and timely staffing of programs. Collaborate with faculty on program development opportunities related to their content expertise, research, and other areas of interest.

  • Develop and manage customer satisfaction surveys and other evidence in client organizations to assess the impact of past engagements and promote new programs. Collaborate with other SPS teammates and departments at the University to leverage joint contacts and identify potential executive education and non-credit opportunities.

  • Pursue continuous improvement by seeking input from learners, partners, faculty, and other key stakeholders to enhance and shape future program delivery.

  • Manage external communications (contributions to SPS/University newsletters, other publications, etc.) to effectively promote SPS as a provider of premier custom and open programs.

  • Design and manage individual program web pages, ensuring timely update to deadlines, course descriptions, and other key details.

  • Maintain, update, and manage all custom, open, and 3rd party marketing lists to include past program participants, alumni, other industry/organizational contacts.

  • Oversee program registration system and processes, including program setup, refunds, invoicing, and payment processing.

  • Inform and foster cross-selling opportunities for EE and SPS by supporting the executive education team through effective market and partner management.

Other Functions:

  • Collaborate with other University and/or external partners to ensure effective and efficient operations relevant to functional area.

  • Utilize best practices in project management to see programs through from conception to final implementation.

  • Work as a trusted advisor to customers, participants, faculty, and broader SPS team.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of program management, and customer support experience with corporate/non-profit/government organizations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of five years of experience engaging organizational leaders with a focus on professional services.

  • Support course creation, program updates, and troubleshooting on the Canvas content management system, working closely with SPS IT as needed to resolve issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify new business/program opportunities from an existing client base.

  • Act as a liaison with other partners, both internally and externally, to coordinate other program needs such as assessments, cases, and other program materials

  • Demonstrated experience with CRM systems, digital marketing tools, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite.

  • Stay abreast of current global business and leadership development best practices.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Master's degree in business, educational leadership, instructional design, or related field.

  • Success in the role requires strategic thinking, creativity, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a record of quickly building credibility and trust with clients and creating exceptional customer value in program design/delivery.

  • An executive presence commensurate with senior leadership of prospects and customers.

  • Knowledge of custom, open enrollment, and other 3rd party leadership development program design and delivery.

  • Establish credibility, influence outcomes, and work effectively and collaboratively with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

  • Work as a trusted advisor to customers, participants, faculty, and broader SPS team.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for own work.

  • Responsible for supporting the EE team in achieving revenue and financial contribution metrics as established by SPS leadership annually.
