Summary:

The Communications Specialistwill support internal communications initiatives, helping to shape our culture and the voice of our brand, ensuring consistent, engaging messaging across all channels.This role will craft engaging, effective communications that strengthen employee experience, promote transparency, and drive alignment with our strategic goals. An artisan who thrives at the intersection of people, purpose, culture, and communication, the ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with exceptional writing and editing skills, cross-functional collaboration experience, and a curiosity for how emerging technologies like AI can amplify scalable, personalized communications.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies aligned to company goals and cultural initiatives, including but not limited to culture and engagement, inclusion, recognition, employee value proposition, and change management.

  • Draft, edit, and publish content across various formats-email, newsletters, intranet posts, leadership communications, social media, digital signage, and other communication mediums; maintain communications toolkits.

  • Provide communications toolkits and support for site General Managers and site HR leadership teams.

  • Develop graphics and visuals to support a variety of initiatives, ensuring alignment with Benchmark brand standards.

  • Collaborate with HR, Marketing, and other business leaders to align messages and maintain consistent tone and brand voice.

  • Manage the company's intranet site, BenchConnect, and optimize use of additional communication platforms and technologies (e.g., SharePoint, MS Teams, intranet, employee apps).

  • Monitor and measure reach, engagement, and effectiveness of internal campaigns; use insights to improve future efforts.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of global town halls and leadership meetings.

  • Participate in our company's Inclusion council in order to market the work of the council's and employee resource groups' initiatives.

  • Develop the communication strategy and deployment and sustainment of our global employee value proposition.

  • Leverage generative AI tools to scale message creation, personalize content, and automate communication workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Media, Marketing, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a communications or public relations role, ideally in a matrixed organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Experience in corporate communications or agency settings.

Skills

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content.

  • Organized and able to manage multiple communications projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, email platforms, MS Teams), and interest in using AI-enhanced tools for writing, editing, and translation.

  • Able to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders with a customer committed spirit.

  • Thrives in evolving environments and is eager to experiment with new communication technologies and methods.

  • Exercises judgment in handling sensitive internal information.

  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms (e.g., social media, email marketing, CMS).

  • Strong listening, organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds 5% or less of the workday.

  • Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday.

  • Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason.

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
