The Department of Medicine is responsible for fulfilling the teaching, research, and clinical mission of the University of California, San Diego and employs 486+ full-time salaried faculty members and 100+ academic appointees. Staff personnel include 600+ staff in 9 bargaining units, students, and volunteers. There are 250 clinical faculty practicing at multiple sites. Under the supervision of primary investigator (PI), the incumbent will provide support for several multisite research projects (R01) La Frontera and sub studies derived from it focusing on risks for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C (HCV) among drug users in San Diego. Duties include: 1) Recruitment and interviewing. Contact potential participants to solicit their interest in participating in the study, determine eligibility for studies in accordance with study protocols, explain studies to eligible participants and obtain informed consent, administer qualitative interviews and quantitative study questionnaires, and write field note summaries. Ensure completeness and integrity of data collection (audio recordings and questionnaires) during and after each interview and that confidentiality is strictly maintained. Provide participant referrals for medical and social services. 2) Project Administrative Support. Set up interview appointments, and participate in study meetings by phone or video conference. Other duties assigned as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $55,374 - $66,064 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $26.52 - $31.64 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
