Field Technician

As a Field Technician at Interstates, you'll turn vision into reality by creating detailed models and drawing sets that meet our high company standards. In this dynamic role, you'll also act as the key onsite liaison, ensuring seamless communication between our design team and construction professionals on the ground-helping deliver projects with precision, collaboration, and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create deliverable sets based on direction from others by navigating systems and tools efficiently.
• Assist in the field installation to gain hands-on experience, contribute to the onsite workforce, and develop constructability knowledge.
• Learn tool functionality by researching and leveraging mentorship and other available resources.
• Continuously improve methods and efficiency by collaborating with others
• Modify models, data, or drawing sets based on direction from others.
• Communicate effectively using virtual and in-person collaboration tools with internal and external teams.
• Apply model and scope changes by adjusting deliverables as required.
• Document and archive revisions by adhering to established procedures.
• Follow project workflows and agree upon standards to meet typical deliverable requirements and schedules.
• Perform self-checks to identify and correct major errors and deviations from best practices.
• Assist in peer reviewing others' work to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Works directly with manufacturing and construction teams to deliver constructable design.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Self-perform advanced design tasks with direction.
• Provides continuous improvement suggestions for tools and processes.
• Assist with 3D scanning and Trimble operation as needed.

Education and/or Experience:A high school diploma or an associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) from a two year community or technical college is required. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in virtual design, construction, or a related technical field are preferred, though a combination of relevant education and hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal education requirements. Ideal candidates should have foundational experience with virtual modeling software, construction documentation, or technical design applications supporting virtual design and construction processes. This position also requires strong computer and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work effectively while managing stress. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others, possess a basic understanding of internal controls, and maintain exacting standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Additionally, they must be able to adhere to the work schedule and attendance policies established by Interstates.

Travel Requirements:As part of the national construction team, this role involves being on-site at a wide range of locations across the country, with placements typically lasting 8 months or more.

Additional Information:The pay range for this position is $24.23/hr- $30.29/hr + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.

Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from high-speed computer printers and other peripherals. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to various worksites may also be required, depending on the assignment.
