The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an academic sports medicine physician to join the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is seeking a full-time, board-certified/eligible primary care sports medicine physician to join our team. OSUWMC Sports Medicine offers a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the prevention and treatment of injuries and illnesses in athletes and active individuals. Our sports medicine physicians work closely with their orthopedic colleagues as well as with our sports psychologists, nutritionists, physical therapists, and athletic trainers. Our physicians serve as team physicians for high school, collegiate, professional, and recreational teams throughout the Columbus region. Our pursuit of excellence in research, clinical care, and education is enhanced by our position in a prominent academic medical center, which allows the integration of considerable strengths in several surgical and medical specialties. Professional Setting: Multidisciplinary medical complexes that are on and off the OSUWMC campus. Collaborative environment supported by shared clinical space with primary care sports medicine, orthopedics, and ancillary medical programs. On-site imaging, lab, and rehabilitation are readily available. Procedure rooms are at each site to allow for the use of sports ultrasound, orthobiologics, shockwave, as well as other procedures. Professional Responsibilities: Primarily musculoskeletal sports medicine practice with a mix of primary care. Evening hours will be a part of the practice. A team physician for affiliated community outreach sports teams (team and event coverage) is expected. Involvement in the primary care sports medicine fellowship is expected. Academic responsibilities will be defined by the candidates qualifications and interests. Requirements
