The Position: As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will support the team with processing, collecting and posting all invoices, vouchers, requisitions, expense accounts, and other operating records. Process vendor invoices by matching receipts to invoices or getting appropriate authorization for processing Perform payments in a timely manner Month end journal entries Post all disbursement information to appropriate ledgers and journals Audits and proof accounts for accuracy Prepare summary sheets for supervisors and auditors Allocate expenditures to accounts in accordance with company policies and chart of accounts Route invoices to proper people for approvals for payment Issue reports on invoices that do not agree with purchase orders Verify invoices for quantity, unit price, extension and discounts Assign dates for invoices for payment Maintain log of voucher invoices by batch numbers and dollars Process special requests in accordance with schedule prepared by Controller Communicate with customers regarding errors What You Bring: Associates degree in accounting or equivalent of minimum seven (7) years of related Accounts Payable experience Experience with accounting software and ledgers Ability to use spreadsheets Working knowledge of accounting theories and practices Ability to perform high volume numerical detail work accurately Ability to complete balance sheets and journals.
