Position Summary

University of New Mexico Department of Surgery is looking for a clinic coordinator to help assist our bariatric program at our Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Monday through Thursday and our main location at UNMH on Fridays with our faculty.

This position will support the day-to-day coordination of these clinics by calling patients for reminder calls, with work the referrals/adhocs for distribution keeping all clinic schedules at both locations filled. Will send out patient packets and collect medical records for our incoming new patients, make sure that all records and paperwork are ready for patients clinic appointment.

This person will also need to assist faculty in administrative duties such as: keeping calendars up to date, scheduling meetings with internal and external requests, up keep their medical licenses (DEA, NM Medical Board, Board of Pharmacy) schedule flights, hotels and conferences. They will be responsible for Pcard purchases, reimbursements, faculty leave inputs.

Conditions of Employment
  • Clinic-Specific Certification may be a requirement in some specific positions.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Must be organized and multi-tasking is a must.
  • PCard purchasing knowledge
  • Adhoc/Referral distribution knowledge
  • Must be able to travel to SRMC and UH
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Teams/ Outlook/ knowledge of TigerConnect is a plus
