Summary: The person in this position will work on multidisciplinary project teams providing civil engineering, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, and related technical expertise. Primary responsibilities will include development of plans and specifications, site drainage and stormwater control plans, and erosion protection plans; cost estimating; fieldwork such as construction observation; hydraulic design and analysis of conveyance systems; design and analysis of energy dissipation structures; report writing; surveying; collecting hydrologic or water quality measurements; and materials testing. The work may at times involve short-term, out-of-town assignments either in the field or in another office. As markets fluctuate, opportunities may also include grading plans and earthwork balance calculations, stormwater planning, hydrologic runoff modeling and analysis (hydrologic modeling, open channel and pipe flow design and design of water control structures), water balance analysis, hydraulic analysis (including analysis and design of hydraulic structures, pipes, and pumps), and other general site-civil work. The work will also include communication with permitting agencies and public officials. Minimum Qualifications:

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000/year. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.Barr has a "no retained earnings" model and distributes all its profit to our employees through our bonus plan and ESOP. NOTE:Must be able to work in locations that may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and conditions typical of industrial facilities. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.
