Pay range: $62,880 - $78,600

YOUR ROLE
Overall objective of this role is to support both the individual and collective sales and business development efforts of the organization in the areas of strategic pricing. This role will assist in facilitating growth, new business development and maximizing profitability.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?



  • Analyze Request for Quote material from customers (both internal and direct) to determine structure for strategy to support business need and gathering required pricing from vendors (Truckers, Warehouses, Airlines, Ocean Carriers etc) for final preparation of quotes.
  • Dispatch prepared quote as per guidelines set based on region, client or sales. Coordinate and follow up with receiver of quote for status.
  • Develop strategy and negotiate with carriers to secure most competitive rate for specific trade lanes.
  • Utilize internal systems (rate tables, contract management systems, etc.) to retrieve current and benchmark requests for new rates. Utilize company tools (DMP Quote) to offer solution to customers and, ultimately be able to automatically handover awarded quotes to operations team
  • Become Subject Matter Expert in area of responsibility for relevant industry trends including carrier rate actions, general rate increases (GRIs), fuel which influence rates.
  • Integrate carrier supply and demand, competitor actions, and other capacity-related factors into rate decisions.
  • Work closely as member of Corporate Team with Business Development personnel.
  • Meet annual objectives as established in My HR (scoring ratio, NR target).
  • Meet or beat all customer-defined deadlines



WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?



  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain or other related discipline preferred: or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Minimum 3-4 job related experience.
  • Minimum three years' industry experience in Airfreight and/or Ocean Freight operations/customer service experience mandatory. Understanding our Industry (Air and/or Ocean Freight) and familiarity with negotiation of rates a plus.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs reporting flows and costs analysis.
  • Strong financial analytical skills with experience in performing quantitative statistical analysis, simulation models, and mathematical models.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling and relating sets of numbers.
  • Ability to generate error-free reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Demonstrated positive, competitive, confident personality with strongly developed persuasive skills and a customer-focused orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve results or work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Must be adaptable to changing needs of client(s) and goals of Company.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills to schedule appointments appropriately and to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Effective follow-up skills.
