What You Will Do:

GFT is seeking a Project Manager, Construction services to join our Construction Services team in the Fairfax area! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our closest office (and/or on site at WMATA).

We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

What you'll be challenged to do:

With minimal supervision, provides construction management services for a wide variety of projects that may include water and wastewater facilities, dams and earth science projects, transportation and transit facilities, and general building projects. Performs routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the understanding of standard construction documents, procedures, and criteria.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules.
  • Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.
  • Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence.
  • Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Prepares construction payment applications.
  • Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
  • Reviews submittals and other technical data.
  • Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
  • Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Assists with Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • PE (after 5 years of experience).
What we prefer you bring:
  • 5-10 years' experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a driver's license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
