Summary

This On-site Supervisor position will be based at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Western Regional Center (WRC) located in Seattle, Washington. The On-site Supervisor must oversee day-to-day operations for the Janitorial Services. The On-site Supervisor will be responsible for and oversee at least 8 employees and obtain detailed assignment information from the Ahtna Program Manager and/or facility client and delegate and oversee these assignments.

The pay rate for this position is $81,120.00-$84,364.80/year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)



  • Communicate staffing needs for the facility
  • Direct work to be accomplished by Janitorial staff
  • Enforce policies and procedures
  • Maintain adequate inventory of janitorial supplies
  • Research and purchase best-value janitorial supplies
  • Working and helping others work in a safe environment
  • Arrive on time and meets all contract scheduled hours
  • Maintains provident, productive, and collaborative communications and relations with the client and Ahtna management
  • Make sure all Ahtna employees onsite receive appropriate training
  • Understands and successfully executes assigned tasks by following company policies, rules, and regulations
  • Has a friendly and professional demeanor and provides quality customer service
  • Conducts regular quality control quality assurance inspections of completed work
  • Perform additional duties as assigned



Supervision

Supervises 8+ Janitor employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bilingual, strong proficiency in speaking Spanish and English
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in the Custodial/Janitorial Service Industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record, ability to operate company vehicles
  • Ability to pass a background check for Federal Agency to obtain security access badging
  • United States Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
  • Knowledge of pertinent local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures
  • Bachelor's degree in business or liberal arts

Physical Demands



  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and stooping for prolonged periods.
  • Talking, hearing (frequently communicates with field personnel via various modes, i.e., radio; must be able to relay accurate information), and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the project location with occasional use of stairs; bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and standing for up to 12 hours.
  • Potential of lifting up to 50 pounds such as equipment and other materials.
