Job Overview

The Senior, Consumer Data Privacy Product Manager interfaces with all levels of Macy's Inc. and plays a critical role in enabling consumer data privacy and compliance. This leader defines and delivers high-quality, consumer-centric privacy experiences as well as the internal tools and processes that support compliance efforts.

The Senior Product Manager blends a deep understanding of customer needs with technical and business goals to drive solutions that create value for Macy's Inc. They lead opportunity assessments, oversee the design and development of privacy-focused solutions, and advocate for concepts across internal business teams and third-party partners. They also partner closely with Macy's Technology and external vendors to deliver high-quality products that foster consumer trust.

Managing multiple projects simultaneously across various stages of the product lifecycle, the Senior Product Manager demonstrates a proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and apply data and technology to drive informed decision-making.

This role collaborates with technology, analytics, UX, business SMEs, external technology partners, and fellow product managers in an Agile and Lean product delivery environment. From strategic planning through execution and post-launch measurement, the Senior Product Manager champions end-to-end product success.

What You Will Do

Product Development & Strategy



  • Code and configure system interfaces and third-party tools.
  • Lead user-centered ideation, discovery, definition, and delivery, including use case development, customer journey mapping, and hypothesis creation.
  • Conduct customer and stakeholder research to build empathy, identify critical problems, assess behaviors, expectations, and understand strategic objectives, operational complexities, and business impacts.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, internal and external, to guide prioritization, inform decision-making, and shape product direction.
  • Evaluate the competitive landscape and industry trends to identify positioning strategies and emerging opportunities.
  • Partner with technology teams to assess technical constraints, complexities, and capabilities to ensure feasible and scalable solutions.
  • Develop financial models for ROI analysis and use insights to build a strategic roadmap that outlines near- and long-term value delivery.
  • Create and share compelling product narratives to align business and technology stakeholders around goals and vision.
  • Define and track KPIs, engagement metrics, and operational performance for each product scope area.


Stakeholder Management



  • Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes by leveraging subject matter expertise to foster alignment, engagement, and shared accountability.
  • Facilitate interviews, working groups, one-on-one discussions, and showcase forums to uncover operational and organizational impacts and prepare the business for product implementation.
  • Identify business process dependencies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure readiness and smooth adoption.


Agile Product Delivery



  • Collaborate with third-party partners, Iteration Managers, Tech Leads, QA, and engineers to optimize delivery team output and continuously improve performance.
  • Build, refine, and prioritize user stories in partnership with UX, technology, QA, and business SMEs for each iterative delivery.
  • Maintain outcome-focused product leadership by adjusting roadmaps, release strategies, and scope priorities to align with agile realities and business needs.


Enterprise-wide Product Leadership



  • Coordinate product lifecycle activities-discovery, definition, execution, delivery, and post-launch-across multiple product workstreams and channels.
  • Guide and support product managers on tradeoff decisions, risk mitigation, and strategic alignment across initiatives.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.


Skills You Will Need

Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, align, and guide cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners across various levels of the organization.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical and compliance concepts in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps, prioritize opportunities based on business impact, and balance near- and long-term product goals.

Customer Centricity: Deep understanding of customer needs, behaviors, and expectations, with a focus on building consumer trust through privacy-first, user-centered design.

Product Management: Expertise in end-to-end product management, including ideation, discovery, delivery, and post-launch evaluation across multiple workstreams.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data, assess risk, and make informed, evidence-based product decisions.

Agile Delivery: Skilled in Agile and Lean product development methodologies, including backlog grooming, user story creation, and iterative delivery in partnership with engineering, QA, UX, and business teams.

Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of system interfaces, data privacy frameworks, and technical constraints; able to partner effectively with technology teams to build scalable solutions.

Business Acumen: Ability to understand strategic objectives, assess business processes, evaluate financial impact through ROI modeling, and consider organizational implications.

Collaboration: Effective facilitator and partner, able to drive alignment through workshops, one-on-one discussions, and stakeholder showcases to ensure shared understanding and readiness.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 6+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or product ownership. Retail experience a plus.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
