ESI Flow Cytometry Research Associate
Primary Duties
:
The Yoh resource is expected to apply expertise across several practical skills in support of the Client Vaccines R&D Global Immunology function, including but not limited to immuno-serology, cell-based assays, molecular biology, flow cytometry, and primary human blood cell culture. The role is a lab-based research scientist who will be participating in laboratory experiments under the scientific supervision of laboratory leads in the Early Stage Immunology team to support preclinical and exploratory clinical evaluation of vaccine candidates. Basic knowledge of sterile lab and cell culture techniques and immunoassay instrumentation including flow cytometers, multi-mode plate readers and plate washers will be required. Individual will be performing laboratory work including immunoassays, data recording in specified formats and electronic laboratory notebooks. Laboratory support activities such as reagent preparation, lab housekeeping and equipment care associated with work tasks will be required. Applicant must be capable of working both independently and as part of a structured team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in design, planning, optimization and execution of in vitro immunological and cellular studies to test immunogenicity, of various vaccine candidates
- Participate in optimization and implementation of in vitro human PBMC-based assays to evaluate innate immunogenicity, adaptive cellular and humoral immunogenicity to vaccines, small molecules, and immunomodulatory compounds.
- Perform various multiplexed cytokine assays and total and functional Ag-specific antibody detection methods to evaluate the in vitro human immune response
- Upon appropriate training perform technical procedures and operate a variety of lab instrumentation platforms according to Standard Operating Protocols
- Upon training analyze and summarize experimental outcomes, record experimental procedures and raw and analyzed data in electronic laboratory notebook while maintaining GRP, HSE, data quality, and compliance requirements
- Present results and prepare presentations of experimental data in internal group meetings.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Experience in flow cytometry-based assays including cell staining, sample acquisition and analysis to evaluate cellular phenotypes and cytokine production will be required. Experience with spectral flow cytometry will be preferred.
- Experience with assay characterization or GLP working environment would be a plus.

Estimated Min Rate: $22.40
Estimated Max Rate: $32.00
