CIVIL ENGINEERING TECH SUPPORT BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our team to support AFCEC/COSC Branch and provide broad technical and management support in civil engineering areas of expertise, e.g., antiterrorism, small arms range, dams, and bridges. This position provides civil engineering support to all AF installations, AFIMSC, MAJCOMs, and Air Staff, with locations in Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS). This position is remote role with occasional on-site meetings at Tyndall, AFB, Panama City Beach, FL.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide professional reviews, assisting with assessments, and offering expert opinions regarding civil engineering knowledge management
- Provide technical expertise for criteria development and review of engineering documents annually to include UFCs, UFGS, as well as AFIs, drawings, and other relevant engineering guidance
- Assists with 35-45 professional reviews and assessments annually
- Assists with development and review of 20-40 engineering documents annually
- Performs reviews of 20-30 projects to include antiterrorism, small arms range, dams, and bridges with civil engineering issues annually
- Performs one (1) to three (3) site visits annually; and consolidating, documenting, and tracking 40-50 requests in CE DASH annually
Key Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and SECRET Clearance is required
- Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Knowledge and Competencies
- Must possess skill in verbal and written communication and understand DoD systems acquisition and civil engineering policies and concepts to include:
- Fifteen (15) years' experience with current civil engineering codes and criteria governing design and construction.
- Five (5) years' experience in assessing and resolving construction issues.
- Fifteen (15) years' experience and knowledge in performing civil engineering design, analysis and evaluation to include: structures, geotechnical, pavements, hydraulics, antiterrorism, water and waste treatment.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including project stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously
Experience & Education

- Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in civil design and operations, criteria development, development of engineering standards with five (5) of those years of experience in structural and or foundation design.
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university is required; a Master's degree in a related field may be beneficial but is not required
